Cass put up our tree the last week of November this year because we had people coming over. I must say it looks pretty good. I can't wait for a real tree though. Waking up to the pine smell in the living room is awesome. Especially when there are presents under the tree.

Sunrise from Signal Hill

You can see Cape spear opposite the sun in this picture. There are more on my Flickr. There were a lot of people that came. It was nice since we only had to get there for around 7. My fingers got so cold though, Cassandra was smart and stayed in the car most of the time. I had fun taking pictures though.

I also spent this weekend processing the pictures I took in Winnipeg, sorry I kind of forgot about them, they are up on Flickr as well.

What to do with gelatin powder?

So Cassandra got me to pick up some Knox gelatin from the store to make stabilized whipped cream for the pumpkin pie this weekend. It worked great and she even let me do it, or actually made me do it because she was tired of baking all day. In any case we now have a tons of gelatin packets with no idea what to do with them. Cassandra isn't a fan of Jell-o, a crime against humanity. I'll just have to make my own fruit block desserts. Any other ideas out there?
By the way the pie was delicious and was made with the pumpkin we pureed and froze last November.

Thanksgiving Potluck

Cassandra and I stuffed ourselves last night with some amazing food (I loved the stuffing) and a gigantic turkey at my friends house. Needless to say we slept well.
Cassandra has made a delicious looking pumpkin pie and cookies with brown butter icing for potluck tonight.
I whipped together some cranberry sauce with orange juice and other spices. And we have word that the turkey is sizzling away at the moment, almost ready for our arrival.
Fall is the best.

Auntie Marcie's Tea Biscuit Cinnamon Rolls

Cassandra made cinnamon rolls this morning to go with our grapefruit. Her aunt makes them from a tea biscuit recipe. They were delicious and were great to munch on while looking at Morgan's wedding photos that were just put up.

Yesterday Cassandra made potato cheese perogies, and i didn't here a single complaint. I think they worked out quite well and they tasted awesome. I made banana bread muffins with chocolate chips which tasted more awesome. We took the spoils to our friends place for a potluck and a game of Nightmare. This is a hilarious game from the early 90's, you can look at it here. You are supposed to set an 'atmos-fear' with low lights and a loud tv and then randomly get called a maggot and get banished by a guy who filmed himself with a cloak and a party light in his basement.

Here are some shots from Signal Hill and Regatta Day when our friend came for a visit. Click the image to go to my flickr account.
